US Attorney General Pam BondiIn this week’s Forkliftaction News, we report on a case coming out of the US where two companies and their executives have been charged with defrauding the government, after allegedly importing forklifts from China, and then selling them to government agencies while misrepresenting their origins as being from the US.
Interestingly, as we look back through our news archive - something we are doing throughout our 25th anniversary year - six years ago US tariffs on Chinese forklifts were in the news.
A trade war between the two super powers, which started when President Donald Trump imposed a 25% tariff on imported Chinese equipment in 2018, was dropped in October 2019.
Currently there is no one set tariff for Chinese forklifts into the US as they are subject to cumulative tariffs and vary from model to model.
