Daifuku's expanded Indiana facilityDaifuku Intralogistics America will open its expanded manufacturing and administration facility in Hobart, Indiana on October 2.
A subsidiary of Japanese-headquartered Daifuku, the materials handling systems manufacturer has added 310,000 sqft. (94,500sqm) of space to the site bringing its total footprint to 634,000 sqft. (193,243sqm).
Daifuku Intralogistics America has a workforce of 440 employees at its Hobart facility and plans to add 350 more in coming years.
The company says the expansion of the Hobart site represents a significant investment which supports its ability to deliver materials handling solutions to the North American market.
“This expansion represents more than just additional space — it’s a reflection of our dedication to innovation, our customers, and our long-term vision in the North American market,” says Christoph Schenk, president of Daifuku Intralogistics America.
Meanwhile, materials handling equipment tyre manufacturer Interfit, has continued to expand with the opening of two new service centres in South Carolina.
The expansion includes a full-service facility in Spartanburg and an Interfit Lite location in Columbia, established through a strategic partnership with Colony Tire.
Interfit says it has taken on six experienced professionals in the sector with a combined 90-plus years’ experience in the tyre industry to work at the sites.

Interfit recently announced it has opened a new service centre in Rotterdam and has acquired Swedish tyre provider Inge’s Däck AB as it pursues an ambitious growth strategy.
