Swisslog has launched its IntraMove AMR seriesSwiss-headquartered warehouse automation specialists Swisslog have released their new IntraMove autonomous mobile robot (AMR) series, which have payload capacities up to 3,000kg.
Swisslog says the AMRs leverage AI to enhance performance and have been designed to offer “flexibility in volatile environments”.
The compact IntraMove AMR 600 is designed for a payload of 600kg (1,322 lb.); the pallet transporter IntraMove AMR 1500 has a payload capacity of 1,500 kg (3,306 lb); and the heavy-duty omnidrive IntraMove AMR 3000 can manage payloads of 3,000 kg (6,613 lb).
Swisslog says the AMRs are a highly scalable solution where warehouse operations do not need to be modified during operation to introduce new robots.
Thomas Balzarek, AMR solution manager, Swisslog Americas, says: “Our customers are increasingly looking for horizontal transport solutions capable of handling heavier loads and adapting to dynamic and frequently changing conditions”.
Swisslog adds IntraMove is connected to AI-based fleet management software, with the software enabling the mapping of industrial scenarios, ensuring optimised route planning and assignment of transport orders to the robots, which travel independently and autonomously.
“The robot’s Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) navigation, which utilises two laser scanners, uses AI algorithms to calculate the most efficient path to a destination while avoiding physical obstacles and traffic without needing cables, strips or tapes,” the company adds.
