Bangladeshi container depot to receive new equipmentThe Bangladeshi Portlink Logistics Centre will take delivery of two Konecranes E-ACE 6/7 ECC10 DS electric empty container handlers - the fully electric version of the Konecranes Liftace empty container handler - at its container yard in Chattogram in Q3 2025.
Operator, Bangladesh’s MGH Group, says the Portlink Logistics Centre is South Asia’s largest inland container depot and is leading the country’s "logistics industry on the journey to lower CO2 emissions”.
The depot currently has a fleet which includes three Konecranes reach stackers.
The electric E-ACE 6/7 ECC10 DS produces zero tailpipe emissions and up to 15% of expended energy can be regenerate and stored for later use.
“This investment supports our sustainability targets without compromising on performance,” MGH Group CEO, Syed Iqbal Ali, says. “Over time, we expect a significant reduction in operational and maintenance expenses.”
The order was facilitated by local entity Konecranes and Demag (Bangladesh).
