The big names in retail continue to roll out high-tech low-emission automated warehouses and processing facilities around the world.

This week we bring news of IKEA’s new distribution centre in Ireland and a new Walmart milk processing plant in the United States.

Both facilities will be fitted out with all the electric bells and automated whistles modern technology can provide.

New materials handling equipment is also in the news, with Clark unveiling a new electric forklift and driverless transport company EasyMile achieving a safety certification.

We also found a story of everyday not-so-high-tech ingenuity involving a forklift and three full hardhats of cheese.
