Fleet management technology, like so much else in materials handling, has been impacted by the disruptions associated with COVID, supply chain challenges and geopolitical tensions.
As we read in this week's Special Report, as commerce and industry reacted to the upheaval, the ramifications extended to the systems and tools used to monitor equipment. Some vendors have experienced stronger demand, but at the same time, they have had to deal with the familiar challenges of semiconductor shortages.
And, like other segments of the market, fleet management technology has benefited from the increased warehouse utilisation which has once again shone the spotlight on the value of data and the need to know what your equipment is doing.
For those still using a clipboard and Excel spreadsheet to keep tabs on your fleet, this week's report will certainly be an eye-opener.
