Of course, everyone likes a happy ending, so it was something of a relief when two UK forklift bodies put aside their differences and issued a joint statement about forklift apprenticeships. Readers may recall that there was a bit of a misunderstanding when the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) claimed exclusivity with a new apprenticeship initiative, apparently snubbing the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA). Well, as we read this week, the two bodies are mounting a united front. Some would say common sense is prevailing as both organisations realise the real target of their attention should be the skills shortage. Let's hope the unity produces significant outcomes.
