A few stories this week pull attention away from the financial woes and towards a perennial issue - safety. Columnist Danny Maron highlights the need for hands-on training, while a couple of stories show that some employers continue to ignore safety issues - at their peril. And, on a lighter note, we report on the first-ever forklift rodeo in Portugal, a country better known for bullfights and bull wrangling. Nonetheless, inspired by the USA Open Forklift Rodeo supported by Forkliftaction.com, the Portuguese event was a huge success and may mark the start of a broader international contest.
