It's mostly business as usual in Texas and Louisiana after the hurricanes earlier this month, but the storms certainly had their impact on forklift dealers. In a world exclusive, US bureau chief Roger Renstrom reports on the effects of the disaster - and how innovative dealers kept the doors open even when the lights went out. And, as we increasingly see in these times of adversity, the forklift industry has opened its heart and its wallet to victims, with some significant contributions to hurricane-related charities. It's reassuring that when times get tough, successful business operators don't hesitate in giving something back to the communities in which they operate and from which they earn their livelihood.
