Two known names in the materials handling business joined forces to better serve international markets. Tailor made equipment for production logistics is the fundament of the company that has been in the lifting business since 1922. Having solutions for tricky projects such as handling large and heavy goods in confined areas or reaching up to extreme lift heights, Genkinger-bAKA is a sought-after specialist.

It is a perfect match, firstly because customers can draw from the experiences of both companies and thus more requirements can be met. Secondly there are synergies that can be lifted by combining the two product ranges and selecting the better solutions of the two worlds. Facilitating the merger was the fact that both companies were located in the Stuttgart area. The region, well known for companies such as Bosch, Porsche, and Daimler, provides a skilled workforce and excellent engineers needed to build custom made materials handling equipment.

Tailor made handling equipment fit for the job
The product portfolio includes powerful and efficient forklifts, platform trucks, industrial tractors, die changers and lifting tables. The wide-spread range is based on a modular system moving loads from 100 kg to 100 tons. The focus is on transporting, storing and changing of non-standard goods.

A typical Genkinger-bAKA project arises when high volume producers such as Kion, Hyster or Toyota reach their limits. Then the focus turns to flexible niche producers such as the specialists from Southern Germany. In close customer interaction a team of experienced engineers develops a solution aiming at smooth and safe processes on site. As a typical single-unit and small series producer Genkinger-bAKA can efficiently execute those projects.

Typical customers come from the automotive industry, steel processing, print and paper, cable manufacturing and other production industries. The highlights of the product range include:

Reach trucks with high capacity and multiway steering (EFSM)
The capacity of typical reach trucks is limited to 2,500 kg. Genkinger-bAKA reach trucks are available for capacities up to 20 tons and with multidirectional steering up to 4,500 kg. The compact lift trucks come with masts up to 14 meters and can be adapted to a variety of working conditions.

The multidirectional steering comes in handy when shelfing long and bulky goods that would not fit the aisle any other way. The high capacity reach trucks are used when existing aisles need to accommodate goods such as coils, heavy components or when storing moulds.

Very compact Reach Trucks (ESM)
Especially when warehousing and sales floor are combined such as in DIY stores, space saving features are vital as every centimeter saved results in more sales per square meter. Genkinger-bAKA offers the most compact solution. For loads up to two tons the loss of load center or the famous L2 dimension is the lowest in the industry.

Die-changer for less machine down-time
The change of dies and moulds is as distinct as the products that are produced by them. Changing dies and moulds is often done by using regular handling equipment and thus compromising speed and safety. The resulting machine down-time can be avoided by using free movable purpose-built trucks.

The product range reaches here from manual equipment for infrequent change of light weight dies to half-automated units for moulds up to 50 tons and more. Three factors are significant for the design and selection of a suitable changing system: safety, speed, and flexibility. Important parameters are the frequency of the changes, size and weight of the dies or moulds, the distance between storage and machine as well as the available space around the machines. Besides the actual change the changing trucks can also be used for shelfing the components in a storage area. Different docking systems, laser distance sensors or multidirectional steering are some of the options that tailor the truck to the specific task.

Mobile assembly units
In today's fast-moving production environment inflexible production facilities such as conveyor bands are often outdated. Genkinger-bAKA is able to provide a wide range of trucks that can be arranged in line serving as a flexible assembly line. The goods to be assembled can be attached to the truck by means of vacuum or tailor-made adapters. The worker can lift, turn and move the products in an ergonomic comfortable position. The system can be easily adapted accommodating shifting demands and different variations.

AGV - Automated Guided Vehicles

Genkinger-bAKA customized vehicles can be automated and contribute to the optimization of intralogistic processes. This offers driverless transport systems with maximum flexibility and safety for people and machines. The AGVs can be integrated into any individual process organisation: from simple transport applications, over the goods-to-person principle, right to full automation within an integrated overall system. The navigation of the automated guided vehicles is done visually and thus guarantees 100% reliability and safety using recent technologies.

Airfreight handling
Based on its modular system Genkinger-bAKA produces a comprehensive range of mobile powered and manual solutions for ULD handling and storing air cargo. The trucks have a sturdy design and are utilized at airports all over the world.
