TVH gets platinum certification
Olathe, KS, United States

TVH in the Americas recently received platinum level certification from the Healthy KC organisation for its efforts in promoting a healthy workplace environment. The Healthy KC is a non-profit organisation that "advocates for real solutions that help shape individual, organisational and environmental health change through a collaborative, community-wide partnership".
TVH says being awarded platinum level is a huge honour because it is the highest level certification that a company can receive. The workplace wellness certification is based on the five pillars of health according to the organisation: nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, work-life integration, and design and built environment.

CLARK gets MVS award
Lexington, KY, United States

CLARK Material Handling has been awarded 2018 Most Valuable Supplier (MVS) status by the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA). This award recognises companies which have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to their dealer network, their employees and their community.
To qualify for the MVS Award, CLARK was required to meet a series of criteria in several areas important to the distributor companies who do business with them.
Scott Johnson, VP of sales and marketing, says the award "reflects CLARK's continued efforts to support and actively participate in the materials handling industry".
"Many of our Dealer partners are MHEDA members and those that actively participate in MHEDA programs and best practices are successful. The value that MHEDA brings its members goes beyond solid financial performance; it (MHEDA) makes dealerships stronger in all aspects of their business."

KION supports apprentice drive
Summerville, SC, United States

KION North America recently participated in Charleston Regional Youth Apprentice Signing Day. With their families present, a total of 59 students gathered at Trident Technical College to sign their employment letters to become apprentices with Charleston-area employers. Joe Grant, a rising junior, has since completed his first month as an apprentice with the Summerville-based forklift manufacturer.
The program is open to high school juniors, seniors and graduating seniors, giving them the opportunity to earn while they learn through paid on-the-job training under the direction of an industry mentor. In addition to work experience, apprentices also take college courses related to their apprenticeship.
"This program is a win-win for KION North America and the participating apprentice," says Jeff Peterson, production manager at KION North America. "(An apprentice like Grant) will gain invaluable work experience that will enhance his overall high school education with practical, real-life experiences, while KION North America aids in helping develop a stronger, highly skilled workforce for the future."
