Nearly 9,500 people descended on the Pragati Maiden Exhibition Center in New Delhi last week for CeMAT India, with organisers describing the mood at the show as "upbeat".
From 10 to 13 December, 104 logistics exhibitors from 15 countries presented the technologies and solutions India needs to build a smoothly functioning, world-class supply chain.
"India's economic upswing was very much in evidence at CeMAT India," says Wolfgang Pech, Deutsche Messe's senior vice president in charge of CeMAT events worldwide. "Business activity is picking up on the back of strong domestic demand, and the fast pace of growth in the eCommerce sector is feeding through into demand for logistics systems."
Jungheinrich, which was one of the major international forklift manufacturers present at CeMAT in Hannover earlier this year, was pleased it participated in the Indian expo

Klaus-Peter Simon, the CEO of Jungheinrich Lift Truck India Pvt. Ltd, says the company is doing "very well" in India. "Our local subsidiary, Jungheinrich Lift Truck India Pvt. Ltd, was established in 2012, and we have enjoyed steady growth in our business here ever since.
"At this year's CeMAT India, we showcased industrial trucks of all kinds. Going forward, we will be scaling up our offering of automated warehouse systems in order to service growing demand, as more and more of our Indian customers seek to upgrade their infrastructure."
Yale Material Handling was also present through its exclusive distributor, Maini Materials Movement. Maini also used the fair to showcase a range of turnkey integrated solutions for the Indian logistics market.
CeMAT India attracted 9,439 visitors, including company delegations from Adani Logistics, APM Terminal, Asian Paints, Celibi Cargo, DB Schenker, Godrej Interio, Harley Davidson, JCB, Mahindra and Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, Ozone Developers, Roop Automotive, Sandhar Group and Toyota.
Exhibitors included big names such as Cascade, Exide, Godrej & Boyce, Hercules Hoists, Hoffmann Fördertechnik, Jungheinrich, Kaup, Kelly Material Handling and Puma Lift Trucks.
The next CeMAT India will be held from 9 to 11 December 2015 in New Delhi.
