KEYTROLLER, LLC releases its newest member of a family of forklift safety devices. ZONETROLLER - an infrared transmitter mounted over a zone boundary and an IR receiver/relay unit mounted to the forklift.

ZONETROLLER IR Zone Control System consists of 2 components:
  1. ZONE-IR--TMR: Transmitter consists of 2 banks of Infrared LEDs pointing to each side of the front of the transmitter. It is mounted 6' (2 meters) above door/zone boundary----pointing down at boundary. LED indicator lights assist in set up

  2. ZONE-IR--RCR: Infrared receiver (mounts to overhead guard of each forklift)

How it works:
  • Transmitter broadcasts IR light to each side of the boundary below it
  • One side of the boundary is "lit up" with IR light at lower frequency
  • Other side of the boundary is "lit up" with IR light at a higher frequency
  • Receiver on forklift picks up IR signal and detects moving from one zone to another by frequency
  • When zone changes, the receiver turns on/off a relay which can control different options
OPTIONS FOR CONTROL:
  1. With External Alarm: Turn on siren alarm when in restricted zone (off in safe zone)
    • With LCD-601: Turn on auxiliary input to Keytroller LCDH-601 device when in restricted zone (off in safe zone)
    • Input will shut down vehicle via Keytroller in X# (programmable) seconds

  2. With KEYTROLLER LCD-601: Turn off speed sensor pulses to Keytroller LCDH-601 device when in restricted zone (device shows NO speedometer)
    • Turn on speed sensor to Keytroller LCDH-601 when in safe zone (device shows speedometer with speed limit)

  3. With SPEED-SAVER EL: Turn on and off two separate high speed setpoints---this is used on forklifts with electronic throttles

  4. With SPEED-SAVER Cable: Turn on and off SPEED SAVER device for controlling top speed---this is used on forklifts with cable type throttles

INFRARED TRANSMITTER
  1. Plug in device 12VDC plug in power supply into 110VAC outlet to power transmitter
  2. Mount transmitter over zone boundary (example: over door----inside "safe" zone----outside "restricted" zone)
  3. Device transmits two different IR signals ---one in "safe zone" and a different one in "restricted zone".

INFRARED RECEIVER
  1. Connects to vehicle power supply and mounts externally to vehicle
  2. Receiver reads IR input for OK "safe" zone, when 2nd IR signal is detected it recognizes it's moved to restricted zone--relay actuated
Keytroller's ZONETROLLER system can be fit to any make or model forklift or vehicle. The device can be easily demonstrated in any application evaluate it's effectiveness. Contact Keytroller, LLC for more info.

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
