IPAF is investing resources in South East Asia to support its growing membership in the region, where it has members in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
IPAF-approved training centese in South East Asia posted growth of 211.3% in training activities in 2013.
The not-for-profit organisation has appointed Evelyn Low Soo Chian as regional manager. She will assist regional manager Raymond Wat, who is based in Singapore. Low will focus on organising IPAF's presence at exhibitions, seminars and shows in the region, and recruiting new members and providing support to members and training centres.
Low previously worked at Singapore rental company BS Technology for seven years in roles from customer service officer to assistant manager.
"IPAF members in South East Asia are influencing governments and safety authorities in the region," says IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman. "We call on rental companies and manufacturers to join IPAF and work to keep our industry safe."
