Standard Tyres Ltd is the largest solid industrial tyre manufacturer in Latin America with its head office and factory based in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

The company is proud to announce that it has been selected as the Original Equipment Supplier of both tyres and wheels to the new Toyota forklift factory in Brazil, which commenced production at the end of 2013.

Standard Tyres Ltd supply both pre-assembled solids and pneumatics to the factory, and were appointed as the main supplier, despite very tough competition and a rigorous selection and homologation process by both Toyota management in Brazil and Japan. The Brazil plant manufactures three models of Toyota's 8-Series internal combustion lift trucks.

Commenting on the contract, President Ernani Souza commented: "This achievement is testimony to the quality of our products, factory and employees. The Toyota brand is renowned for its quality and reliability and we are extremely proud to be a key strategic supply partner in our growing market."

As part of the rigorous selection process, Standard Tyres Ltd implemented its ISO9001 registration in 2013 and this will be concluded in April of this year, again another milestone in the company's history. Furthermore, the company made a substantial investment in creating its own sate of the art rubber mixing facility during 2013, ensuring complete control of its manufacturing process, from raw material through to finished product. The company has over 20 years' manufacturing and distribution experience, and offers a full range of premium quality solid tyre products (ST3000 & ST2000) as well as pneumatics, including specialist compounds such as Non Marking White.

The company is the Brazilian market leader, and the main approved Original Equipment Supplier in Brazil, also supplying other top name manufacturers such as Nacco (Hyster & Yale), Still and Liebherr. The domestic market is serviced through four owned distribution centres, all fully equipped to meet the customers' needs.

In addition to supplying a thriving domestic market, Standard Tyres Ltd exports its products through its newly created International Division, now exporting to over 30 countries worldwide. To boost its export drive the company will be exhibiting back to back at the world's largest forklift exhibition, CeMAT in Hanover, as well as at the Essen Reifen exhibition, both in Germany, taking place at the end of May. Commenting on the company's presence at the shows, Managing Director, Carlo Piccirilli commented: "These shows will provide an excellent platform and opportunity for us to exhibit our premium tyre products to many existing, as well as new customers from Europe and the rest of the world."
