A Jungheinrich reach truck operating at conveyor manufacturer Geo Robson's Sheffield plant may be a front-runner for the longest service record.

The electric ETVQ20 multi-directional reach truck has been a part of Geo Robson's intralogistics operation since 1977. For over 35 years, the truck has been used to unload incoming deliveries of heavy steel component parts used to produce the company's bulk materials handling conveyor systems.

In addition, the truck is responsible for shuttling finished goods around the site from the factory to the store for delivery to clients.

"The truck is in operation every day of the week and has always been highly reliable," says Geo Robson's works manager, Stuart Cain.

He adds: "At Geo Robson we take pride in the reliability and quality engineering of our products and we look for suppliers with the same ethos. If the time ever comes to replace our 'old faithful' truck, I am sure Jungheinrich will be the first company we turn to."
