Bolzoni Auramo participated in CeMAT Asia for the seventh time this year.
The number of visitors to the combined annual PTC Asia and CeMAT Asia 2012 trade shows, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre last week, jumped 21% to 68,510 people.

A total of 1,830 exhibitors showcased their products and services over 110,000 sqm (1,184,030 sqft.) of display area during the four-day event, which welcomed visitors from 80 countries and regions.

CeMAT Asia exhibitors included Anhui Heli Co Ltd, the Beijing Materials Handling Institute, Cascade China, China Industrial Truck Association, Crown Lift Trucks Commercial (Shanghai) Co Ltd, Dalian Forklift Co Ltd, EP Equipment Co Ltd, KION Baoli (Jiangsu) Forklift Co Ltd, Material Handling Industry of America, Ningbo Chuli Forklift Co Ltd, Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co Ltd and VDMA Materials Handling and Logistics Systems.

"Despite (the) economic downturn (leading) to declining profits for many companies, there are still opportunities in the market to secure their business for the years to come," says show organiser Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president of Deutsche Messe AG.

About 480 CeMAT Asia exhibitors displayed modern logistics products and services on 37,000 sqm (398,265 sqft.) of floor space.

Daifuku, a top-three Japanese enterprise storage solutions specialist, made its debut this year. "We are very delighted to welcome this key player after so many years," Pech says.

"I’m a loyal visitor to CeMAT Asia. Each year I find it’s improving in many ways," a professional buyer told Deutsche Messe. "This year, the [outdoor] forklift show totally impressed me. And I’m also fascinated by some newly launched products at the show."

KION Baoli launched its new D-Series 3T diesel forklift right after the CeMAT opening ceremony. "We can say that the … forklift has opened a new chapter in the product range of KION Baoli," a spokeswoman says. The forklift has a mast lowering buffer device to enable smooth contact of the forks with the ground, hence reducing noise and the risk of damaged goods.

The spokeswoman adds that KION Baoli received over 400 enquiries at the show and is pleased to have boosted its brand recognition.

Bolzoni Auramo participated for the seventh time in CeMAT Asia this year. Marketing manager Paola Baldini says CeMAT Asia has become "the most influential international exhibition in logistic and transportation fields in the Asia Pacific region".

"This year’s exhibition also attracted a large number of leading domestic and foreign enterprises, gathering advanced logistic technologies," she says.

The Bolzoni display included the AR-Series paper roll clamp with split arm and the HN-Series hook-on sideshifter.

"During the show, Bolzoni Auramo staff had the opportunity to meet its well-known customers, as well as many new contacts," Baldini adds.

Leading forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich, whose Chinese direct sales company is headquartered in the Putuo District in Shanghai, was not present at CeMAT Asia this year. Spokesman Jan Kaulfuhs-Berger says the German brand has not participated in the show for several years. "Our focus for China is to develop our activities in particular regions in China. Therefore, every endeavour has been made to develop our direct sales activities in these regions."

The next CeMAT Asia will be held on 28-31 October 2013 in Shanghai.
