Jungheinrich gets CILT Award

Jungheinrich UK Ltd has won the Warehouse and Materials Handling Award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport's (CILT) recent Annual Awards for Excellence ceremony.
The CILT awards recognise outstanding achievements in the transport and logistics industry, and were held at the London Marriot Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
This year, awards judges considered Jungheinrich's work at wine and spirits importer Matthew Clarke's new facility at the Port of Bristol to be the outstanding materials handling project of 2012.
Over 500 of the UK's leading logistics and supply chain practitioners attended the event.

APEX switches to Amsterdam
Amsterdam, the Netherlands

The eighth APEX aerial platform exhibition in 2014 will be held in Amsterdam in the Netherlands on 24-26 June, moving from its long-time home in Maastricht.
Organisers say the switch to the Amsterdam RAI exhibition centre and the new June dates will boost visitor numbers and enhance the show's global appeal.
Since launching in 1996, the previous seven shows have been held in Maastricht in mid-September.
Amsterdam RAI is the city's largest showground and one of Europe's best-known exhibition spaces.

TICO system has good design
Tokyo, Japan

Toyota Industries Corporation's automated guided container transport system has been selected for the 2012 Good Design Best 100.
"The Automated Guided Container Transport System is a perfect example of fusing the design of a physical object with the design of a social (structure). It is the target of great expectations as the leader for new maritime industry strategies in Japan," the award jurors comment.
The winner of the Good Design Gold Award will be announced on 25 November.

Palletforce system hits 2 million milestone

Alliance, the IT system that Palletforce launched last year, now has 2 million views a month.
Developed in-house, the bespoke Alliance offers full visibility of customers' freight at every stage and has been built to support future growth.
"Since its deployment, our members have wholly embraced the new system and the benefits it can bring to them and their customers," says IT director Dean Hughes.
The company is now rolling out the in-house developed ePOD system that shows 'proof of location' and enhances consignment visibility.
