 Case 586H rough-terrain forklift |
The Racine-based Case Construction Equipment segment of CNH Global NV has added two rough-terrain H Series forklift models that it manufactures in Burlington, Iowa.
"The new Case H Series rough-terrain forklifts have been in development since well before I joined the company last year," says Marc Pomerantz, the segment's marketing communications manager. "As Case has introduced Tier 4 Interim-certified machines, Case has worked to ensure these new product introductions, including the new Case H Series rough-terrain forklifts, go beyond compliance to build and improve upon the Case DNA of excellent machine performance, serviceability and operator comfort."
Pomerantz notes that Case has manufactured rough-terrain forklifts for about 60 years.
"Case H Series rough-terrain forklifts were tested by customers at our proving grounds, but we did not release or demonstrate any of these models to the general public prior to launch," he notes.
Case says the new 586H and 588H forklifts offer enhanced fuel economy and productivity and achieve Tier 4 Interim certification through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation technology and a diesel particulate filter.
Each model uses a Case turbocharged engine that is rated at 78 hp (58 kW) and delivers a minimum 5% increase in fuel efficiency and faster response times than previous models while meeting current emission standards, the company says.
"While fuel economy is a top benefit of the Case H Series forklifts, the new models incorporate a variety of improvements that increase productivity, including an enhanced operator environment and easier serviceability," says Katie Pullen, Case brand marketing manager.
Among other products, the construction equipment segment manufactures wheel loaders in Fargo, North Dakota; excavators and crawler dozers in Calhoun, Georgia; and skid steer and compact track loaders in Wichita, Kansas. Tines can be attached to any of the loader products.
Publicly traded Fiat Industrial SpA of Torino, Italy owns a majority of CNH Global. A merger of New Holland NV and Case Corp formed CNH, also publicly traded, in 1999. CNH is based in Burr Ridge, Illinois, United States and is incorporated under Dutch laws.
