SME Forklifts SA de CV has begun representing the LiuGong brand as an authorised dealership in México City and the State of México.

"Our core business at SME Forklifts is working with all size companies to provide solutions at the lowest cost of operation with minimal impact on the environment," says Oscar Vázquez Flores, who heads SME as director.

He notes an SME commitment to reduce emissions through use of the latest tools and by sharing information with customers to decrease pollution caused by a lack of proper maintenance.

The company has 15 employees and has operated in the materials handling industry for six years.

SME Forklifts represents LiuGong's line of forklifts including six battery-powered models and 15 internal combustion models powered by diesel- or propane-fueled engines. Capacities range from 1.5-16 T in two product lines: advanced series models focus on operator ergonomics and performance, while basic series models target price-conscious customers. LiuGong's parts and service support network covers both series.

The forklift distribution and service arrangements between SME and LiuGong Forklift Americas of Katy, Texas, United States became official on June 30.

LiuGong Forklift Americas operates within the LiuGong Construction Machinery NA LLC subsidiary of conglomerate Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co Ltd of Liuzhou in China's Guangxi Province.

Globally, the company has a network of more than 380 dealers across six continents in over 115 countries. The firm employs more than 14,000 and operates 24 manufacturing facilities.
