Three Terex TFC 45 reach stackers have been delivered to Mundhra Container Freight Station (CFS) in India.
The first two units were commissioned in November 2011 for Mundhra CFS's customer Excellent Engineering & Allied Services. Both units are currently operating in Mundhra Port & Special Economic Zone, India's largest private port and special economic zone, in Gujarat.
The third unit was commissioned in December and is now being operated by Aditya CFS, a Mundhra CFS sister company, in the Port of Kandla.
"October to April is the peak season for Mundhra CFS, and these machines will be working up to 22 hours a day in an extremely hot and salty environment," says Nicolas Pricak, Terex after-sales engineer, India. "The TFC 45's hydraulic system is extremely durable so they can run virtually non-stop."
Mundhra CFS Ltd director Navjeet Grewal says reliability is one of the reasons that motivated the purchase decision.
"Our TFC 45s' long-interval maintenance design is something that we can rely on to handle our customers' ... high throughput. For this application, a time proven and reliable design was of paramount importance, and our three new TFC 45 reach stackers have precisely that reputation," Grewal explains.
The Terex TFC 45 is one of the company's most popular models. Offering maximum lifting capacities up to 45 T, the hydraulic TFC 45 is available in standard "spreader" and "special attachment" versions tailored to a range of applications.
