 Terex TFC 46MS HC |
Terex Cranes has delivered two units of a customised, high-capacity version of its Terex TFC 46M reach stacker to Brazilian port-handling operator MultiRio Operacoes Portuarias SA.
The crane manufacturer says the reach stacker, which is 25% more expensive than the standard version, is a "performance record" for the company.
"Thanks to MultiRio's confidence in our team's expertise and ability to respond to their challenging requirements, the Terex TFC 46MS HC opens new doors to all end-users in the containerised port handling sector worldwide," says Terex Cranes reach stacker design and development manager Manuel Teixeira.
"Besides setting a new performance record, this version's reduced gross weight and the use of standard Terex components has allowed us to increase operational cost efficiency while reducing maintenance costs," Teixeira adds.
Produced at its facility in Montceau-les-Mines, France, and delivered via its distributor Equiport, the two reach stackers were adapted to suit the needs of a specialised cargo-handling contract awarded to MultiRio for operation in the Port of Rio de Janeiro.
Terex Cranes claims that the Terex TFC 46MS HC has a longer reach and higher lifting capability than any other reach stacker on the market. When equipped with a top-pick spreader, the reach stacker has a maximum lifting capacity of 15 T at 11 m (36 ft.) radius and can stack up to seven full ISO dry containers on the first row, and up to five full High Cube containers on the third. The customised model has an interchangeable hook block that enables it to handle bulk cargo up to 60 T.
