Santos Port now has the highest concentration of Terex reach stackers per square kilometre of any of the world's ports. |
Terex Cranes has delivered seven Terex TFC 46 M reach stackers via its distributor, Equiport, to Santos Port in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Santos Port now accounts for the highest concentration of Terex reach stackers per square kilometre of any port in the world. There are 450 Terex reach stackers operating in Latin America.
"Equiport is situated within 25 km (15.5 mi.) of Santos Port," says Equiport managing director Thierry Montagne. "Our proximity and our customers' confidence in the quality of Terex port equipment have been the basis of the strong partnerships that we have developed over the years."
The value of the order, which was made at the CeMAT expo in Sao Paulo in June, is confidential.
The reach stackers offer 45 T lifting capacity for the first row, 33 T for the second row and 18 T for the third row, for full, bulk and high-cube containers up to six-high on the first row, and six-high ISO containers on the second row, and is available in standard and dedicated multi-attachment versions.
The first 16 Terex reach stackers were delivered to four of the port's terminals in 1994. The number of units has grown with the port's rapidly developing activity.
Santos Port is ranked as the largest container port in Latin America after Panama. It is the focal centre of Brazil's import/export activity. Santos Port currently has 104 port operators and 32 logistics terminals, including 16 "wet" shipping terminals.
