FLTA has partnered with RMI to introduce a buying scheme.
The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has partnered with the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) to introduce a buying scheme to potentially cut costs for association members.

An arrangement with RMI gives FLTA full member access to RMI Commercial Services.

During a trial period, Richard Hayes, of Brindley Lift Truck Services, who heads the FLTA Technical Committee, reported a saving on oils of 20p a litre. That was for the same oil brand and grade his company was already using.

Every member company has been given an RMI Commercial Services brochure. According to FLTA, making a purchase is simple: "Contact the RMI representative to ask for a quote. If you don't like the quote, don't buy. If you do like the quote, then place your order."

RMI offers special prices for items including oils and lubricants, tools, workwear and stationery. There may be other items RMI can source and FLTA members are encouraged to ask the federation.

RMI represents independent garages in the UK. Its training and apprenticeship requirements are covered by Retail Motor Industry Training, which also manages FLTA's apprenticeship program.
