Australian retailer Myer will deploy more than 200 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its new national distribution centre in Victoria.
The retailer has taken possession of the 40,000 sqm facility, which is expected to handle up to 70% of online orders when it becomes operational.
The retailer has selected the Geek+ RS8 shuttle system for the new DC, which will be deployed alongside Geek+ P800s, Körber’s sortation solution and more than 200 AMRs.
The use of the AMRs is aimed at ensuring “faster order processing and delivery timeframes” for customers, Myer says in a LinkedIn post.
The new facility is expected to come on line by the end of March 2023.
