Tompkins Robotics has announced two new appointments to its executive team in response to company growth.
As the new vice president of RaaS business development and sales, Michael Carmody brings more than 24 years of supply chain expertise deploying engineered solutions and technology applications across North America and Mexico. With a focus on the third-party logistics market, Carmody is tasked to chart a compelling roadmap for the Robots as a Service subscription offerings recently unveiled by the company.
Prior to joining Tompkins Robotics, Carmody led 3PL business development for AutoStore North America, delivered software transformation as Principal Consultant in transportation system implementations with enVista, and led cloud TMS implementations for MercuryGate. Carmody has established a track record of effective supply chain design and optimisation success across Fortune 500 networks. Michael is fluent in English, with working Spanish skills.
Pat Mathavan

Pat Mathavan has joined the company as legal and intellectual property (IP) counsel.
In his new role, Mathavan is responsible for all legal matters for Tompkins Robotics and manages the company’s IP portfolio, which includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications and trademark applications worldwide. Previously, he held in-house IP/patent attorney roles at Vesuvius Corporation, IBM and at various law firms specialising in intellectual property.
Mathavan earned his J.D. with a specialisation in intellectual property law from Quinnipiac University School of Law, his MBA from Southern Connecticut State University, and his B.S. from SUNY Maritime College. He is admitted to the North Carolina and Connecticut bars and is registered to practise before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Hans-Georg Frey, chairman of the supervisory board of Jungheinrich AG, has notified the company of his decision to resign as member and therefore also as chairman of the supervisory board with effect from the end of the Annual General Meeting on 11 May 2023.
“After almost 16 years leading Jungheinrich, of which 12 were as chairman of the board of management and almost four years as chairman of the supervisory board, the time has come for me to make a change,” says Frey, who wants to have more time to dedicate to his family and his other tasks. “The early announcement makes it possible for the company to initiate a professional process and arrange for a successor.”
Frey’s contribution to the company has been acknowledged by the major Jungheinrich shareholders, the Lange and Wolf families, who have expressed their regret over his decision to resign.
David Muckle

Haskel Hydrogen Systems Group has made a number of key appointments to maximise the current growth opportunities in the hydrogen sector and satisfy increasing global demand for its range of refuelling systems.
David Muckle has been appointed general manager of Haskel Hydrogen Systems, taking over from Stephen Learney, who has retired from his work within the Haskel Hydrogen Systems team.
Muckle is responsible for scaling up Haskel’s production capabilities and accelerating R&D innovations. He has held a number of senior manufacturing and commercial management positions, including as operations manager and commercialisation project manager for compressed air specialist Gardner Denver. Following the merger of Gardner Denver and Ingersoll Rand in 2020, he became global high pressure general manager, focusing on hydrogen for industry.
Jake Martin

Jake Martin joins Haskel as business development manager for the EMEA and India regions. He was previously at Chesterfield Special Cylinders, where he spearheaded the hydrogen growth strategy and secured a five-year framework agreement with Shell Hydrogen in Europe.
He will work with customers in the EMEA and India regions to introduce hydrogen refuelling systems across a range of projects.
