Tompkins Robotics has unveiled a new member of its tSort family of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), the pedestal tSortPost for parcel sortation.
Tompkins Robotics chief executive officer Mike Futch says the customisable tSortPost reduces the need for fixed infrastructure.
“The tSortPost has an adjustable post that allows for sortation into containers at a variety of heights while running on the floor of the facility,” Futch says. “This means we can deploy a new sortation system in a facility with almost no infrastructure, relying only on fiducial markers, scanning stations and destination bins around the perimeter.”
The new AMR has customisable sortation options, tailored cross belt sizes and the ability to deliver to multiple containers.
It’s powered by Tompkins Robotics’ Transcend software suite and can be integrated with existing systems.
“tSortPost is poised to significantly impact the industry by providing an innovative and efficient solution to the complex challenges of parcel sortation,” Futch says.
“As flexible and mobile as our current tSort offerings are, we wanted to provide a solution that utilises even less infrastructure with an even quicker deployment for parcel sortation in last mile, regional hubs and distribution and fulfillment centres.”
