Cooper Materials Handling has appointed Gareth Baxendale as area sales manager. Baxendale will be based at Cooper Materials Handling's new headquarters at Trafford Park, Manchester. The 30-year-old has worked in the warehousing industry for the past 10 years. He is now responsible for building relationships with businesses of all sizes in the Manchester area, and hopes to draw on his experience as a warehouse manager with a major logistics company. "Over the years I've built up a lot of contacts in the warehousing and logistics sector and understand its needs and requirements," he says.

Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS) has promoted Shaun Prendergast to the role of technical manager (north). Prendergast is well known to the CFTS membership, having joined the body as assistant technical manager in 2012. The new role focusing full-time on the northern part of the UK will help CFTS ensure that the quality of examinations remains high as membership continues to grow. The CFTS was established by the British Industrial Truck Association and the Fork Lift Truck Association to provide a safe and unambiguous national standard for compulsory safety forklift tests.
