The general assembly of the European Materials Handling Federation (FEM) has unanimously elected Jan van der Velden as president for the 2012-2014 period.
Massimo Riggio, president of the Italian Committee AISEM, was elected vice president of FEM.
Van der Velden is senior manager systems at Vanderlande Industries, a Dutch company that designs, manufactures and installs automated materials handling systems for distribution centres, sorting centres and airports. He has been active in FEM for many years, both as president of the Product Group Intralogistic Systems and member of FEM board.

Clark Material Handling Company has appointed Susan Harmon as purchasing manager. Harmon will provide leadership and management to the purchasing and materials group for the Aftermarket Parts business. She returns to Clark with over 25 years of experience in purchasing and materials management, and holds certification in lean manufacturing and purchasing management. She previously worked for Clark for 14 years.
Treva Payne has been appointed as planner expediter. Payne will be responsible for monitoring supplier delivery performance and meeting customer commitments. She has over 16 years of planning and materials management experience.
