Man Lift's SHU-brand vertical extension deck attachment for scissor lift platforms |
Man Lift Manufacturing Co is making headway with its SHU-brand vertical extension deck for attachment to scissor lift platform.
"We are getting calls from rental companies that their customers want the product," says Charles Selden, Man Lift sales representative.
Man Lift introduced the SHU during the American Rental Association's trade exhibition The Rental Show on 10-12 February and also displayed it at the American Society of Safety Engineers' Safety 2014 exposition on 8-10 June. Both events took place in Orlando, Florida.
"The SHU is a product that needs to be in front of people" for them to understand its value, Selden notes. "Safety engineers did not know it existed" prior to seeing the unit.
The compact SHU can replace existing extension decks, increase a platform's height by 20 in. (0.17 m) and provide fall protection anchorage. The SHU is compliant with safety regulations and standards, suitable for access to narrow spaces such as ceiling grids and joists and eliminates need for the often hazardous practices of using ladders or standing on mid-rails, buckets or planks.
The Redmond, Washington-based Genie Industries Inc unit of Terex Corp's aerial work platforms business segment approves installation and use of the SHU platform in accordance with instructions in the Genie scissor operator's manual and related Man Lift requirements.
Cudahy-based Man Lift Manufacturing makes a variety of aerial access and materials handling solutions.
