 Liebherr LHM 420 |
Deliveries to Haiti, Suriname and Luxemburg have taken Liebherr Maritime Cranes to a new milestone of 100 countries.
The first mobile harbour crane in Haiti was delivered recently to a newly built port in the Caribbean.
Port Lafito received two LHM 420s last month. Both are equipped with Liebherr's LiDAT fleet management system.
The system allows for crane performance monitoring and key statistics analysis in order to ensure optimum turnover.
Meanwhile, stevedoring company N.V. VSH Transport, based in Paramaribo, Suriname, has received its first Liebherr mobile harbour crane at the Port of Paramaribo.
The main task of the LHM 280 is container handling.
In Europe, Luxport S.A. in Luxemburg opted for an LHM 420 at Port de Mertert as its first Liebherr mobile crane for general cargo handling.
The market milestone caps an export thrust that began in 1974, when Liebherr delivered cranes to three countries in Europe.
Last year, the company's products were deployed in 35 countries.
Spain is the best-represented market, receiving at least one crane per year since 1998. Orders reached a peak in 2007 and 2008 with 13 deliveries per year. In total, Liebherr has delivered more than 100 units to Spain.
