EUROGATE's fleet at the Hamburg terminal will have 55 straddle carriers. |
Konecranes has received its fourth straddle carrier order from German container terminal and logistics company EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg GmbH.
The value of the order, comprising 14 straddle carriers and maintenance services, is not disclosed. This latest order brings the total of Konecranes straddle carriers in EUROGATE's fleet at the Hamburg terminal to 55. The new machines will be delivered in the second quarter of 2012.
Konecranes general manager for straddle carriers Jens Andreas says the new units will form an important part of EUROGATE's fleet. "The fourth order from EUROGATE, on one hand, proves that our straddle carriers are reliable and technically advanced products and, on the other hand, that our outstanding service support is appreciated by our customers."
Konecranes claims the straddle carriers represent the latest technology on the market. The machines have a 50T lifting capacity and can stack containers one over two high. They will move and stack containers in the container yard.
