A unit of Konecranes Plc acquired the assets of Ameratronic Industries Inc. of Portage on 21 June. Terms were not disclosed.

Konecranes is moving the operation, including five employees, about 20 mi. (32 km) to an existing Konecranes branch in Crown Point, Indiana.

Ameratronic owners, including Jack Tapper, are retiring.

Ameratronic provides crane and hoist services and has served the area for 17 years.

Hyvinkää, Finland-based Konecranes has a global presence in manufacturing and servicing overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
