Minimising the risk in forklift operations, Keytroller Australia provides a total monitoring system to assist in meeting stringent OH&S regulations. As well as the ability to 'lock out' employees who do not meet pre-operational criteria, the Keytroller 105 and LCD 501 systems generate detailed reports about the usage of forklifts, such as speed and correct use of safety procedures, to deliver a safer working environment. The system also provides detailed reports on incidents, providing important data for ensuring driver accountability and assisting in maintaining productivity.

Forklift operation is often associated with substantial risk and without proper management can lead to severe injuries and even fatalities. Employers have a legislated obligation to utilise an appropriate monitoring system in all areas of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts, to comply at a minimum with Australian Standard AS2359 and other related requirements.

The key focus of Keytroller Australia is to provide an easy-to-use, effective system for monitoring forklift use suitable for any type of industry, ensuring that duty of care responsibilities are met.

While manual pre-operational checklists are in place in most workplaces, the Keytroller system ensures that the equipment cannot be used unless the person is qualified to drive it, eliminating the risk of an unauthorised person accessing the vehicle.

While the vehicles are being used, all issues relating to speed, operator training, reporting, operator control and equipment safety systems - as detailed under Section 21 of the OH&S Act - can be addressed by installing Keytroller system on vehicles. As an option, the forklift can also be fitted with an audible alarm or flashing light that indicates when safe operation requirements are not being adhered to in addition to the detailed data in the reports.

The Keytroller 105 and LCD 501 systems also provide information on impacts sustained by a vehicle with time of event, driver I.D, driver name and severity of that event measured in G-forces over a pre-determined period of time. This data not only assists in insurance and OH&S matters, it makes drivers accountable for their actions with irrefutable data and even graphs to illustrate. With greater driver accountability, the inevitable productivity losses often experienced as a result of incidents is controlled.

Keytroller Australia can empower employers to effectively tackle the challenges of OH&S statutory obligation, provide duty of care in a time effective manner and resolve insurance and staff management issues with accurate data. And, not to mention, assist in minimising the risk of workplace injuries.
