KAUP GmbH & Co KG is partnering with Danish attachment manufacturer ELM Kragelund AS to sell and market their products in Europe.
There will be no overlap between the two attachment makers' products as ELM specialises in integrated fork positioners while KAUP produces other forklift and materials handling equipment attachments.
KAUP spokesman Gerald Schmitt says his company's product range is "a perfect supplement" for ELM's customers in the Scandinavian market while the latter's fork positioners are the perfect extension of KAUP's range.
ELM will market and sell KAUP's entire range in addition to its own product portfolio in Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Meanwhile, KAUP will market and sell ELM products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Schmitt says that KAUP plans to include the rest of the European market that is covered by its own subsidiaries in its marketing and sales of ELM products after it has produced marketing and sales materials in other European languages. The company's European subsidiaries include locations in France, Spain, Poland, the Benelux and Czech Republic.
Both companies' sales offices will work closely with forklift distributors in the respective countries to provide consultation and service to customers.
ELM claims to be the leading forklift attachment producer in Scandinavia. Established in 1967, the company employs 75 people.
KAUP, founded in 1894, in Aschaffenburg, Germany, has produced forklift attachments, stationary materials handling equipment and container spreaders since 1962. It produces 40,000 units annually, has over 500 employees and an annual turnover of approximately EUR65 million (USD87.7 million). It has plants in Aschaffenburg and Xiamen, China and is represented in 32 countries.
