Over the past three months, we have seen significant changes in almost every aspect of economic life, and materials handling has been impacted in a variety of ways - from production to delivery.
The interdependence within the global supply chain has been highlighted by a call from a global freight forwarders association for action on the movement of containers.
Government crackdowns on the movement of goods has exacerbated the shortage of containers in some markets, placing a strain on the logistics sector, prompting FIATA to call for urgent action.
If nothing else, after the COVID-19 crisis ends, people everywhere will be more aware of the role of logistics and handling.
