We had hoped to devote this message to something other than COVID-19, but alas, that crisis persists and continues to impact materials handling.
But this week, we can report on the impact of materials handling on the coronavirus, as manufacturers around the world apply their skills to address shortages of personal protection equipment (PPE). We detail three examples in this newsletter.
In other positive news, we report on more factories re-opening after government-enforced closures - which is good news for dealers and end-users as demand for forklifts picks up, especially in warehousing.
And on the topic of logistics and warehousing, we also report on US initiatives to enlist the help of logistics organisations in the battle against the pandemic, just as the sector has rallied in the past to help flood and hurricane victims.
More good news is that amid the rising tide of unemployment, it seems that many employers are still looking for forklift drivers. We are continuing to do our bit to boost jobs by offering free listings to employers.
