We are constantly learning new concepts in materials handling. Just when you got your head around AGVs (autonomous guided vehicles), you need to start thinking about "cobots". For the uninitiated, that's the term for "collaborative robots", or robots intended to interact with humans in a shared environment. So, think of AGVs working together with traditional materials handling processes and you'll get a sense of what it all means.
This week, we include a report which predicts huge growth in the cobot market, especially for small and medium-sized packages which make up a large share of warehouse activity.
