Materials handling manufacturers like to boast about key sales. That can be anything from the 1,000th crane ordered by a port (as reported last week) to deliveries into new markets.
Often, these reports are about volume - a fleet of forklifts here, a dozen units sold to a hire company there or the 50,000th unit to roll off the production line.
But sometimes, a single unit sale is also impressive, especially when it's a high-profile customer. We have read in the past about equipment deployments at sporting events or cultural activities.
This week, we read about a new forklift doing its stuff at NASA. So, you see, forklifts really are rocket science!
