It seems like last year was a million-unit year for forklifts, with Jungheinrich revealing in its market intelligence that the market rose 8% in 2014 to 1.09 million units.
The German manufacturer had plenty to smile about, with its own production at record levels. Last year, it produced 83,500 forklifts, beating the record set in 2007 - before the global financial crisis.
This performance gives the industry some confidence going forward and it will be interesting to see if it leads to an upbeat atmosphere at ProMat 2015 later this month.
