While everyone else was lost in the gloom and doom, the industrial truck market just kept on truckin'. As we report this week, orders grew almost 25% last year, with all markets reporting positive movement. Admittedly, the improvement comes after some depressed performance in the preceding years, but the graph is certainly heading in the right direction.
And speaking of past performance, it would be remiss not to note the retirement of Canadian forklift figure Gordon McCutcheon. Gordon is stepping back after more than 41 years in the industry. Indeed, some readers would not yet have been born when he started out. Even his 27-year stint with JH Ryder Machinery Ltd is not to be sneezed at. All the best, Gordon.
