It's one of those quirks that just as we publish an upbeat, optimistic feature story on the recovery of the US market, we also report on a large player "consolidating" its operations and halting American production. However, TCM is putting a positive spin on its measures, saying they're aimed at making the business stronger. And if we've learned one thing from the recession, it is that size is not always an indicator of financial security. Many organisations have taken their medicine and are stronger now - more focused, leaner and more self-sufficient.
