It is hard to ignore the wildfires which are currently burning their way through parts of California leaving a devastating trail of destruction in their wake, taking lives, livelihoods, property and dreams with them.

The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has issued a call for help from the logistics community with everything from warehouse space to trucks and materials handling equipment very much in need in the weeks and months ahead.

But for the well-established aid organisation to do its job as effectively and efficiently as possible, it is critical support be provided in a coordinated and planned approach.
