The first Mobicon
The first Mobicon

A new standard test for forklift drivers has been released by the UK Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA), to ensure the process is more inclusive.

The test, which will become compulsory on 1 March 2025, replaces the five questions requiring a written answer with multiple choice questions, testing “knowledge and competence rather than their written skills”.

This week, we also chat with Jesse Schultz, general manager of Australian light-weight straddle carrier designer and manufacturer Mobicon Systems, which is celebrating 30 years in business.

Schultz reflects on the history of the business and where its sights are set for the future.

And we have the full list of finalists for this year’s Logistics UK Awards.

The second is a closer look at what was the main theme of the trade show - the growing rise in automation, how it is changing the sector and how enthusiastically it is being embraced by younger generations...
