This week’s news has a little story that could have a very big impact on energy sources for materials handling equipment.

Japanese equipment maker Komatsu has developed the world’s first sodium-ion powered forklift.

It will be worth watching how the proof-of-concept trials go for this innovative power source.

And speaking of powerhouses, Forkliftaction’s very own Jolie Booth has spent the week in Atlanta in the United States at MODEX, billed as the biggest supply chain event of 2024. Check out our MODEX photo gallery to see some of the highlights from the show floor so far.
