They say the show must go on, and that was certainly the case for the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Awards.
Normally, this note would be written in Germany, where I would be judging the awards in a chilly exhibition hall, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, I - like many of the international judges - performed my duties virtually.
The Test Days were conducted last week, and while many of us weren't there in person, we were able to see the finalists in action and to hear the assessments of the expert advisors and to discuss the results via Zoom.
The jury is now in the deliberation phase and we will make our recommendations soon, but we are still not sure when and how the winners will be announced. Last year, this was done virtually for the first time, but organisers are confident that a "real life" ceremony is still possible.
