Hyundai Heavy Industries Co has formed a business tie-up with German construction machinery maker Atlas Weyhausen GmbH to diversify its construction equipment portfolio.

Hyundai Heavy currently produces excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, skid-steer loaders and backhoe loaders.

According to Dow Jones News, Atlas Weyhausen will export single and tandem rollers under Hyundai Heavy's brand to the Middle East, Turkey and Russia from the second half of this year. Rollers are compaction equipment used mainly for road building.

Atlas Weyhausen wants to boost sales through Hyundai's sales network in 150 countries.

"We expect this win-win partnership will not only boost our existing product sales but will also make HHI the one-stop shop for construction equipment," Hyundai construction equipment division senior vice president Ji Sang-pyo said in a statement.
