Hy-Tek Material Handling has announced the acquisition of Gems Conveyor Installation, Inc. (GEMS) and Applied Handling Equipment Co. (AHECO).
The acquisitions are expected to boost Hy-Tek's 2016 sales to approximately USD125 million.
Columbus, Ohio-based Hy-Tek supplies materials handling solutions for industries including manufacturing, distribution, retail, pharmaceutical, food, electronics and automotive.
A leading installer of welded construction conveyors, GEMS serves the biggest names in the parcel-handling industry, including FedEx Ground, UPS, and Amazon. GEMS also provides conveyor system installation services to distribution centres serving diverse industries nationwide.
AHECO, meanwhile, is known for its expertise in providing products and services for ergonomic materials handling. It serves the automotive, aerospace, food equipment and general manufacturing industries. Notable clients include Honda of America Manufacturing, UTC Aerospace Systems, and Whirlpool Corp.
Founded in 1963, employee-owned Hy-Tek Material Handling serves customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico from offices in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.
Hy-Tek represents the full line of Yale lift trucks in Central Ohio and also sells JLG aerial lift equipment.
