Hydraulics manufacturer Haldex has reported a 21% rise in orders and a 12% rise in net sales for the first half.
The group's order intake amounted to SEK3.751 billion (USD491.354 million), up from the SEK3.104 billion (USD406.602 million) reported last year.
Net sales reached SEK3.456 billion (USD452.711 million), eclipsing the 2003 result, SEK3.098 billion (USD405.816 million).
The company's hydraulic systems division, which builds forklift components for such companies as BT Industries (Forkliftaction.com News #145), increased its net sales by 13%, from SEK466 million (USD61 million) in 2003 to SEK527 million (USD69 million).
Haldex, in its financial report, said it expected to report a "substantial increase" in sales this year, given the first half results.
"The industry ... upturn is strongest in North America, but also Europe and other markets show a positive development," the company said.
"Figures show ... the market for construction equipment and forklift trucks developed positively in both North America and Western Europe, with production increases of 5-15%."
