Founder John Faulkner has sold his company, FMH Material Handling Solutions, to GNCO, based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Faulkner tells Forkliftaction News that after 44 years as a forklift distributor, he has sold the majority of FMH to the family-owned holding company because it “was the best move for the FMH employees, vendors and my family".
Faulkner became a Clark dealer at the age of 27 and was the first Doosan dealer in America. Faulkner also represented Crown, CAT, Mitsubishi, Jungheinrich, Big Joe, Sellick, Kalmar, Donkey and Heli Forklifts in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and West Texas.
He says FMH became the largest Heli distribution agent in the world in 2022 and he will continue distribution for the Chinese company under a new entity, Industrial Forklifts, Inc., which is relocating to Phoenix, Arizona.
FMH is a multi-brand dealership serving the Albuquerque, Denver and El Paso areas. It carries a large selection of new and pre-owned inventory, as well as offering finance, service and parts.
The new owner, GNCO, is a holding company with operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New York, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
“Our focus and growth in the equipment distribution industry gives us the expertise in a breadth of equipment distribution segments. This expertise allows us to best serve our wide B2B customer base with the best solutions to help them succeed,” the company profile states.
GNCO’s product offerings cover forklift equipment and aftermarket support, terminal tractors, warehouse systems, motive power, safety and training, and fleet management solutions.
